Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is now offering the new Double TriSpec tool for use in abrasive asphalt milling conditions. The unit is designed to reduce the risk of cause of tool failure from body wash, the premature wearing away of the steel body that surrounds and supports the brazed-carbide cutting insert. When body wash occurs, the tool's steel body becomes vulnerable to failure, and the tool must be changed long before the carbide tip has been fully used, increasing downtime, lowering production and boosting labour costs.
