Several European countries have begun first steps to examine UCAV designs. Some of these were consolidating under the French-led Neuron UCAV program, but several nations have been conducting independent demonstrations such as Sweden's FILUR, Italy's Sky-X, Germany's Barrakuda, and Britain's Taranis. The joint Neuron demonstrator was scheduled to first fly in 2011 but funding shortfalls delayed this to December 2012. The British Taranis demonstrator was scheduled to begin flying in 2010 but atest flight was delayed until 2013.
