摘要

A sensitive and convenient assay for boron (B) in plant material is described. The assay involves extraction of B from plant material with dry ashing or 0.5 M HCl, formation of a B-chromotropic acid (1,8-dihydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid) complex in an aqueous solution, and determination of the complex by HPLC. Reliability of the assay was evaluated by analysing a standard reference sample (tomato leaves) and satisfactory results were obtained. The proposed assay is applicable to dried plantmaterial containing 0.1-1.0 鎔 B, which is equivalent to a batch of 20 mg dried plant material containing 5-50 mg B/kg.
