The field study of efficacy of chemical pesticide BCS-AR83685 alone or in combination with Movento at different doses in single or multiple applications against Columbian root-knot nematode on potato was carried out in the field at Parma Research andExtension Center, Parma, Idaho, USA. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with seven treatments including an untreated control each with five replications in a silt loam field with indigenous population (2200/cm3 soil) ofColumbia root-nematode. Vapam was applied by a commercial applicator on 11 Nov 09 by using a fumigation bar to a depth of 8-10 in. as a standard treatment. BCS-AR83685 applied at 6.84 oz/A and 13.7 oz/A was applied at planting on 3 May 10 by using CO2 powered spray nozzles mounted behind the planter shoe in front of the closing disc in a 6-8 in. wide band to maximize protection of root zone. Post plant treatments with BCS-AR83685 applied at 13.7 oz/A or a second application of the BCS-AR83685 applied at6.84 oz/A was done on 11 Jun 10, five weeks after planting with overhead irrigation in 0.5 in. water using a plot-sized chemigation sprinkler so that all chemical washed down into the soil. Movento 240 SC applied at 5 oz/A was applied using a CO2 handheld plot sprayer on 7 and 9 week after planting. Potatoes were harvested from all plots on 28 Sep 2010 and total yield per plot, number and weight of infected potatoes and the percentage of infection was determined. All data were analyzed and sample meanswere separated using Tukey's Multiple Range Test whenever necessary and differences were considered significant when P < 0.05.
