摘要

The etiology and epidemiology of leaf rust of mulberry plant (Morus alba) was investigated at Ibadan, South-western Nigeria in the lowland humid tropics. Cerotilium fid was associated with the leaf blight and seedlings blight mulberry. Field symptomsof the disease are common both in the dry and wet season beginning with numerous pin-head sized circular brownish to black eruptive lesions on the surface of the leaves. Affected leaves become yellowish and wither as the disease becomes severe. Matured leaves are more susceptible to the disease. The pathogen was also harbored by Centrosema pubescens Benth and Chromoleana odorantum Linn found growing within the mulberry plots.
