Australian and Japanese researchers announced Aug.30 they have developed a new molecular tool to help farmers fight herbicide resistance in weeds,which has become one of the major threats to conventional agriculture.Molecular biologist Dr.Mui-Keng Tan said in a statement that a technique called eco-tilling offers a quick,inexpensive,and reliable way to detect early signs of herbicide resistance.
