Whatever your stance is on savouring the delights of shop windows or comparing price tags up and down the High Street, a town is generally only as attractive as its opportunities to shop. Now, the bag carriers of the past (husbands and boy friends roped in before they had time to come up with an excuse) may not have been so delighted about embarking on a shopping spree, but modern man, who has actually come to think he's worth it too when it comes to selecting fashion clothing and accessories, is only too glad to tag along nowadays. And since shopping has become recognised as a kind of hobby and is no longer considered to be a chore or necessary evil, it is the light radiating through the windows or door of a retail outlet that indicates whether crossing that particular threshold is likely to support what we like to call a shopping experience. In the next issue we will be presenting some fine examples of what we believe that means, for example Engelbert Jewellery Boutique designed by Ljusarkitektur.
