摘要

Pingit Bamboo is well known to the indigenous people in the Karangasem District of Bali. It is found there only in the holy area of the temple, which is one of the biggest temples in Bali. It is located on the mountain Lampu Hyang Luhur, which is 1200m in height.Pingit means sacred. The local people in this area believe that this bamboo can cure breast cancer, insomnia, and heart problems. A religionist at the temple says that the water inside the culms of this bamboo can cure those diseases. Local people say that many have been healed by drinking the water from inside the culm. In addition to being used as a medicine, the water inside the culm is used as holy water by Hindu people in Bali.
