摘要

Many manufacturing processes involve moving the processing materials through the system in a continuous stream. It is ideal to insert the analytical instrumentation inline with the production stream in order to perform a continuous non-invasive measurement of the material stream for process and quality control. For example, in a chemical process, different molecules may be produced at different stages of the manufacturing system and it is extremely useful to determine the composition of the stream continuously and in real time and to have the data integrated with the process control system in order to optimize the process. In food processing, it is important to examine the raw material and the final product, e.g. for its moisture, fat and sugar contents.
