The case studies on benchmarking at Yellow Pages (YP), The Employment Service (Es), and North West Water (NWW), confirm that benchmarking is highly effective and applicable to service industries. Benchmarking has contributed significantly to:· Strategy formulation, organizational development and increasing efficiency at YP.· Improving training at ES.· Improving internal communication, making easier design improvements, allowing people to learn new ways of working and lowering costs at NWW.
