Purpose: To describe a case study of an improvement project of UWV, from among the Lean Six Sigma projects implemented by the organization. Summary: Lean and Six Sigma projects are implemented in many organizations successfully in many industrial organizations. Later lean Six Sigma was implemented by financial organizations after their success in the manufacturing industries. Followed by this, many health care organizations also implemented this improvement methodology successfully. Now there are instances of public sector organizations applying this to their area of operations. In this article, the authors present a case study of UWV， a large Dutch public sector organization in the business of finding placements to the needy, implementing successfully the lean Six Sigma in their area of operation.
