Leadership for quality and innovation: Challenges, theories and a framework for future research

摘要

Though leadership is one of the most researched topics, failure of leadership clearly shows that leadership at all organizational levels are difficult. There has been no consensus on what guarantees success for leadership. The article discusses current issues that leaders face, what researchers and practitioners know about leadership theory and practice to improve it in future. The author has tried to present a comprehensive understanding of how the key aspects of leadership (the individual, behaviors, and activities) can create the environment that would benefit all the stakeholders of the environment. The authors concludes with a need for "call to action" of leadership scholars and scholar- practitioners to rise to the challenge, along with others in multi stakeholder perspective to bring out theories that explain how leaders can create value and to discard theories that does not explain.
