In relation to follow-up experiments using two-level fractional factorial designs,commonly applied strategies involve creating an additional design matrix of the same size as the original.The two established strategies are: ·S_1:Folding over all columns. ·S_2:Switching the signs in one column.Both strategies when applied to resolution III fractional factorial designs produce designs with: ·Main factors not getting confounded with any other main effects. ·As well as any other two-factor interactions. The paper extends the confounding-free properties of S_2 in relation to two-level fractional factorial designs,to orthogonal designs and,in particular,to (the 12-row,11-column) Plackett-Burman design.(6 refs.)
