摘要

Performance measurement is the process of collecting, computing and presenting quantified constructs for the managerial purposes of following up, monitoring, and improving organizational performance. There are situations where goals are attached to the metrics in order to indicate a standard. Performance measurement is seen as the whole measurement process from collection to the final usage in managerial work. The purpose of this paper is to present and discuss alternative arguments and directions for the study of performance measurement. The paper also discusses the strengths and weaknesses of various choices available. (49 refs.)
