Purpose: To describe a successful Six Sigma for statistical engineering purpose by integrating statistical process control to the existing practice of engineering process control. Summary: This article describes a Six Sigma project to implement statistical process control (SPC) on high-pressure hose products produced in a factory namely, PH Corporation that is implementing lean Six Sigma. The article discusses how the proposed SPC solution is integrated into the current engineering process control operation and its quality assurance system in the statistical engineering paradigm and its impact toward continuous improvement. High-pressure hose products made out of alternate layers of rubber and metal wires are loaded and cured in a sealed, heated chamber, called an autoclave or vulcanizer.
