Quality management (QM) was reborn in the late seventies with an emphasis on organizational excellence. However, there has been significant controversies on the managerial scope and position in organization, arising from doubts on the role of QM in to value creation and the risks associated with a vision as a new paradigm. This study aims at responding to such concerns, based on the views expressed by 75 experts on a Spanish firm, gathered through personal interviews and a Delphi study. (34 refs.
