Lockheed Martin (LM) has revealed plans to extend its Desert Hawk family of small UAS in response to calls from the US and wider international special forces community. Speaking to Unmanned Vehicles, LM's small UAS business development manager Bill Daly said the company intends to offer an 'Extended Range' (ER) variant of its Desert Hawk III UAS and described how both LM as well as other airframes were being evaluated, based on their ability to carry existing and future Desert Hawk payloads.
