The sustainability of selected cotton-rotation crops sequences sown with minimum tillage in cracking clays is being studied in field experiments in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. Some key soil structural and soil chemical (soil fertility) properties measured during late March 1996 in a dryland trial established by the Cotton Research and Development Corporation in an alkaline grey cracked clay at Warra, south-eastern Queensland, are presented.
