The equivalent of almost 150 tonnes per hectare of everbearer strawberries have been produced in just over three months with the first commercial installation of a new ultra-intensive columnar growing system. This yield is some four times higher thanthat normally achieved with tabletops which require more or less the same capital investment, claims the company marketing the system.
