Enthusiasm ran high as approximately 700 potential growers, manufacturers, processers and retailers travelled to the tiny town of Pain Court, Ont. for a day dedicated to the rapidly developing industrial hemp industry. It was a truly North Americanshow, as representatives were on hand from Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, BC, Nova Scotia, Quebec and all parts of Ontario. Jean Marc Laprise, owner of Laprise Farms, was the host of the day. Though the hemp he has grown this year is a 'no dollar' experimental crop only, his company Kenex, Ltd. will be in the business of processing hemp as early as next year.
