This article reports experience in managing 303 pae-diatric hand fractures in 283 patients, excluding carpal injuries, over a 12-month period. Similarto findings in previous studies, most patients do well. But which fractures do not do well? Can we improve the results in this group of patients? Can we learn from the experience in this article? The authors report complications in 19 (6%) fractures. It would be useful to study this cohort in more detail. Three fractures, managed by splinting, were found to have displaced at one week.
