Granuloma annulare (GA) is a cutaneous, granuloma-tous dermatosis of unknown etiology, that includes a common, localized type and three less common types, namely, generalized, perforating and subcutaneous types.1'2 Subcutaneous GA predominantly affects children and commonly occurs in the extremities and scalp. It is clinically characterized by single or multiple flesh-colored, subcutaneous nodules.1"5 Although there has so far been no description concerning the association between the localized type and the subcutaneous type in the reviews of GA or subcutaneous GA,1"4 some reports have indicated that the localized type may be associated with subcutaneous GA elsewhere, either prior to onset, subsequently or simultaneously.
