Since 1998 Tree Aid has been working in partnership with the Royal Forestry Society to use trees to change lives for communities living in the Sahel region of Africa. Sarah Moore gives us an update on the what is being achieved. The communities of theSahel region of Africa, some of the poorest in the world, struggle with environmental degradation, and economic insecurity that leads them to destroy their natural resources in order to feed their families and earn an income. Using forestry-focussed development interventions, Tree Aid is ameliorating poverty across Africa's drylands, with financial support from the RFS.
