The total area of housing units and buildings authorized in the third quarter of the year surged 40% from a year to 34.96 sq. million meters together with an increase of 10.4% from a year earlier to 22.69 sq, million meters in the areas where new construction works began in the July-September period, said the Ministry of Land, Transports and Maritime Affairs on October 7.
