Global machine tool market is expected to continue its steady growth next year. According to a recent report by the Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (KOMMA) about the world machine tool market outlook for 2005, the business prospects for next year in the global market particularly in the areas of North America, Asia and Europe are bright. A Japanese machine tool association predicted that order receipts by Japanese machine tool manufacturers for metal-cutting machines would surge 35 percent in 2005 compared with this year in accordance with a rise in demand in connection of the expected fast globalization of economy as well as the consideration by some newly developed markets on the industrial environments for possible expansion of the facility investments in their local industries. In the local market for machine tools in Japan, an economic recovery is expected to boost facility investments, while overseas market for Japanese machine tools is likely to be continuously favorable thanks to an economic recovery in the U.S and continuing economic growth in Asia including China.
