Krautkramer's USM 25 series portable flaw detectors are lightweight (3.5 lbs.) and can be used on steel sections as thin as 0.020 in. (0.5 mm). In addition, the detectors have curvature correction to compensate trigonometric flaw location calculations when performing angle beam inspection on piping and tubular goods. Two independent monitor gates, along with automatic A-scan freeze for both gates, provide versatility and simplify thickness measurements.
