摘要

On March 12-14 the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Intl. (FMA), and its technology affiliate, the Tube & Pipe Association (TPA), sponsored Metal Matters 2008: The Metal Fabricator's Management Summit. Held at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., this event brought together over 125 top industry leaders to meet, learn, and do business. Highlights of the third annual conference were keynote presentations by John Ratzenberger, host of the Travel Channel's "Made in America," Susan Annunzio of the Center for High Performance, Danny Forster of The Discovery Channel's "Build it Bigger," and Tom Waddle, former wide receiver for the Chicago Bears. Chris Kuehl, Ph.D., FMA's global economist, identified economic trends and the opportunities they present to manufacturers, while bringing some much needed humor to "the dismal science."
