The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) published the Eleventh Five-year Program for the Development of the High-Tech Sector on April 28th. NDRC expects that by 2010, the added value of high-tech sector will account for around 10% of China's GDP; the sales revenue of the high-tech manufacturing sector will reach RMB9 trillion and the sales revenue of the high-tech service sector will achieve RMB2.2 trillion.Development focus is laid on eight sectors. Those related to the chemical industry include biological, new materials, new energies and marine sectors.
