A study was made of the gross anatomical features of the spleen of the dromedary camel (Camelus dromedarius). The spleen was situated on the left side of the abdominal cavity, in the paralumbar region, It was not in contact with any ribs. The spleen was crescent-shaped, and appeared to possess three parts: proximal, middle, and distal. The weight of the spleen was about 400 gm. The arterial supply consisted of the splenic artery proper (from the caliac) which supplied the middle and distal parts of the spleen; the lesser splenic arteries, one each from the right and left ruminal arteries, supply the proximal part of the spleen. The splenic vein joined the mesenteric vein to form the portal vein.
