According to the customs-statistics released in China, the quantities of nickels imported and exported by China in January - April of 2007 as well as in a single month of April were as per the table attached hereto. (1) Imports of nickel metal ( unwrought nickel ) = China imported 9,598 tons of nickel metal in April of 2007, having increased by 24.7 percent compared with that ( 7,694 tons ) in the previous month - March. China imported 12,000 tons of nickel metal in February of 2007 and, as a reaction to this large quantity of nickel metal imported in February, the imports in March had a decline but the imports in April recovered somewhat.
