THE feedlot segment of the meat market is continuing to forge ahead with increased numbers of cattle on feed. This has been shown in recent surveys conducted by the Meat and Livestock Association and Australian Lot Feeders' Association "The lot feeding sector again se new records with an unprecedented 896,000 cattle on feed during the first quarter of the year, up 160,000 on the previous quarter," Mr Foster said. "A 22% increase growth occurred in all states, with the largest increases being in Queensland and Western Australia.
