As the problem of lapsed vaccination continues, an increasing number of veterinary practices aire realising the potential business benefits of running an amnesty campaign and are rising to he challenge of ensuring that their clients' pets are up-to-date with vaccinations. In the quest to tackle common problems associated with unvacci nated cats and dogs, which are exposed to potentially life threatening disease through a combination of forgetfulness, complacency, perceived expense and controversy over vaccination, a targeted amnesty can have significant benefits for all concerned. Following advice from animal health company, Intervet UK, Catriona Shaw, senior partner of Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Chorley, Lancashire, ran an amnesty - and she'll definitely be doing it again!
