The Ohio Valley will host the September 19 holding of the WAI's Road Show Workshop, which will feature a presentation by Dr. Horace Pops on nonferrous wire technology. "This event presents an opportunity to contact many nonferrous companies in our region to explore their continuing educational needs for workshops and to attract additional members," said chapter President Thomas Rennet Topics to be covered will include a history of copper and wiredrawing; technology of electrical conductors, including requirements for magnet wire; basics of wiredrawing, including die design and analytical solutions and practices; annealing of nonferrous wire; wire breaks and surface issues, including failure analysis; and testing of rod and wire.
