Bahk Jae-Wan, South Korea's finance minister, has announced that the government will soon reveal new measures to combat rising domestic oil product prices. "Crude prices have stabilized somewhat recendy, but there is a need to address this problem. Various measures to stabilize domestic oil prices will soon be announced." Bahk added that the meeting with G-20 finance ministers that is coming up shordy will include discussion related to curbing international crude prices. Every week this year, pump prices in South Korea have risen, largely because of refiner's ability to control fuel stations through supply contracts.
