The technique of human in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET or IVF) has been established. But, at present the IVF mainly benefits the patients who are responsive to super ovulation. Donation of oocytes from healthy donors is needed in women with premature menopause, or ovarian agenesis, or dysgenesis. Many young women request oocyte donation following radiotherapy and chemotherapy, Other women for oocyte donation are those persistently unresponsive to superoviolation and carriers of X-linked or autosomal dominant genetic defects. The sources of mature oocytes donation are very difficult now, Scholars thought that if the immature oocytes can be matured in vitro and then establish the ovum banks, it will be a great advance in clinical application as well as in theory, Oocyte maturation and fertilization can be achieved in vitro in a number of mammalian species, but very little is known about the maturation and developmental capacity of immature human oocytes. Cha et al. found that the human immature oocytes recovered from ovarian specimens had the competence of in vitro maturation. Trounson et al. confirmed the maturational and developmental competence of immature oocytes (2—10mm in diameter) recovered from patients with polycystic ovaries by vaginal ultrasonography.
