Combinatorial chemistry involves the rapid synthesis and screening of a large number of chemicals or materials through a number of automated tests (termed 'high throughput' testing). This paper exemplifies this approach by describing the techniques used for different parts of the workflow to develop marine coatings. The results of some of this work have been reported previously.
