摘要

In this study, pattern recognition techniques are used to examine possible structures in Long Term Geoelectric Potential difference (LTGP) data. The data was recorded during the 1993-1997 period in Western Greece, a territory with very high seismic activity. Attempting to automate the process, the continuous recorded signal data was divided into segments corresponding to consecutive time periods of fixed duration (10 days). The segments were tagged according to seismic activity information recorded in the same period and analyzed; similarities in data recorded during periods of comparable seismic activity, in particular seismic events with geographically adjacent earthquake epicenters, were examined.
