We are proud to present the first global health-themed issue of Healthcare: The Journal of Delivery Science and Innovation. The term "global health" has a range of definitions. We favor that of Jeffrey Koplan and colleagues, "an area for study, research, and practice that places a priority on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide." These priorities - improving health and achieving health equity globally - can only be realized by an approach that emphasizes both delivery science and innovation.
