摘要

We consider the numerical solution of a system of reaction-diffusion equations containing nonlinear reaction terms which model chemical wave propagation. An approximating nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations arises by applying the Method of Lines semidiscretization approach. This initial valve system is solved using a novel linearly implicit predictor-corrector method which results by treating the nonlinear source terms explicitly. The stable, second order scheme avoids the necessity to iterate as well as the time-step restriction common to other Finite Difference methods. Natural parallelism across the system surfaces making the method as economical as lower order Euler-type schemes. [References: 4]
