The paper is focused on active damping of structural vibrations of a simply supported rectangular composite plate by using segmented piezoelectric sensors and actuators. The control law is based on the proportional-velocity feedback. Dynamic responses fo the system are obtained due to the classical plate theory and the static model of piezoelement-substructure interaction with the perfect bonding assumption. The dynamic behaviour of the controlled plate is presented by means of amplitude-frequency characteristics. [References: 3]
