摘要

This theme issue of Dalton Transactions contains papers presented at the tenth Dalton Discussion meeting, held from the 3rd-5th September, 2007 at Durham University, UK. This Dalton Discussion meeting consisted of five Keynote speakers, who each spoke for forty-five minutes, with the remaining sixteen papers being summarized in short 5-10 minute presentations. All presentations were then followed by an opportunity for questions to the speaker, and also an extended, open discussion between delegates. The papers contained in this issue were all refereed and accepted for publication in Dalton Transactions, before being sent to delegates for them to read as pre-prints, prior to the meeting.
