摘要

Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) is a novel technique for noninvasive, real-time, in vivo imaging of skin at cellular levels.1'2 Near-infrared light from a diode laser focuses on microscopic targets at varying depths in the horizontal plane, to a maximum depth of approximately 200 um in the papillary and upper reticular dermis. RCM is the only noninvasive imaging modality for visualization of details necessary for histologic analysis.3 It is used as a bedside diagnostic tool and in evaluating neoplastic and inflammatory processes (e.g., psoriasis, allergic contact dermatitis, and actinic keratosis;2 cherry angioma;4 sebaceous gland hyperplasia;5 mycosis fungoides;6 lupus erythematosus;7 and secondary syphilis8). It helps distinguish benign from malignant lesions such as melanoma,9 basal cell carcinoma (BCC),2'10 squamous cell carcinoma,11 seborrheic keratosis,12 and benign nevi.
