Noble Energy has said that the company intends to sell the natural gas from Israel's Leviathan field to local, regional consumers, according to Globes. Noble signed an agreement in 2010 with the Delek.Group of Israel to develop the Leviathan gas fields, and since then speculation has abounded as to how the large gas reserves will be exploited. Cyprus has made it clear that it wants to become a world-scale player in LNG exports and would want to use Leviathan output as feedgas. While it was not ruled out as a possibility, Noble CEO Charles Davidson has said that the existing gas pipeline infrastructure makes marketing the gas regionally much more appealing due to the significantly lower capital costs.
