Chinese No.3 copper maker Yunnan Copper Co., Ltd plans to build a copper smelting/ refining plant in Chifeng city, Inner Mongolia in a bit to process copper raw materials into copper cathode locally and reduce transportation cost, source from the company said. There is a copper smelter in Chifeng city, named Chifeng Jinfeng Copper Co., Ltd. Chifeng Jinfeng now has a capacity of producing around 25,000 tonnes of copper blister each year. As one of suppliers of copper raw materials to Yunnan Copper, Chifeng Jinfeng sells all its copper blister to Yunnan Copper. However, the distance between the two companies is 3,000 kilometers.
