About a year ago, ZF Marine LLC announced changes within its North American organization that the company said would help it transform from a component supplier to a systems integrator. Those changes are appearing to bear fruit for the Miramar, Fla.-based subsidiary of the global powertrain component specialist, as ZF Marine announced that it was the propulsion systems supplier for the newly launched R/V Sea Scout built by All American Marine of Bellingham, Wash. The Sea Scout, which is believed to be one of the first catamarans incorporating quad propeller propulsion, will be used for various shallow and deep water survey activities as well as autonomous underwater vehicle operations. The 134 ft. long, 37 ft. wide aluminum vessel is owned and operated by C & C Technologies Inc., Lafayette, La.
