摘要

This paper addresses basic questions that should be asked when considering technology of prefluxing with binder/paint mixtures. It summarises typical objectives of this flux application method and describes in details the key characteristics of flux paints and methods of their measurements. Special attention is paid to determining the storage time stability of commercially available products. In the second part, a case study is presented - showing the root cause investigation of a part failed in burst pressure test (plate & bar oil cooler). In the summary important aspects for choosing pre-fluxing technology are listed.
