摘要

Cyclopia and arlhinencephaly were diagnosed in two lambs from two different flocks. Both lambs were mixes with German Blackheaded Mutton. One lamb had only one eye located in the median of the back of the nose in an osseus bulge. In the other lamb only histological residues of the ocular tissue were found in a blind ending canal which had its aperture in the middle of the back of the nose under a Y-shaped hole of the skin. In both animals, face and brain were profoundly malformed. No further malformed lambs were observed in these flocks, infectious causes by pestivirus could be excluded and there were no hints on teratogenic plant ingredients. The causes of these malformations remain unclear,
