The isothermal section at 700 deg C in the Co-richternary Sm-Co-B system was determined by means of X-raydiffraction. In this range, nine ternary borides were observed:Sm_3Co_(13)B_2, SmCo_4B, Sm_3Co_(11)B_4,Sm_2Co_7B_3, SmCo_3B_2, Sm_2Co_(14)B, SmCo_(12)B_6,SmCo_4B_4, SmCo_2B_2. The first five borides are membersof the homologous series Sm_(m+n)Co_(5m+3n)B_(2n) formedby alternative stacking m layers of SmCo_5 with n layers ofSmCo_3B_2 along the c-axis. The compound Sm_3Co_(13)B_2was not reported in previous isothermal sections found in the literature.
