摘要

Endobronchial fibromas are tare, benign tumors of the lung. They can present with asthma-like symptoms or postobstructive pneumonia and atelectasis. Rigid bronchoscopy debulking and/or open surgical resection could be necessary for both diagnosis and definitive treatment. We report our treatment of a large fibroma completely obstructing the right bronchus intermedius. Curative endo-scopic resection was performed using an electrocautery snare through a flexible bronchoscope under conscious sedation. This minimally invasive technique decreases both the risk and the cost associated with more invasive endobronchial and surgical procedures usually indicated for this lesion.
