Square billet exporters from South Korea continue facing low demand. While having large volumes of semis for April shipment, they see their position weakening also on the back of uncertain situation in the scrap market. Specifically, Hyundai Steel who intended to sell 20,000-25,000 t of square billet with April shipment has failed to close a tender for two lots of 120 mm and 150 mm billet (10,000 t each). Bid prices from regional traders did not exceed $547/t FOB, whereas the producer insisted on $550/t FOB at the lowest.
